Heat is an excellent bed bug killer. A hot clothes dryer is good for treating infested clothes and bedding. But two very important points need to be made regarding using heat to kill bed bugs, temperature and exposure time. The thermal death point for bed bugs is 113 degrees F.for 90 minutes or more. But at 118 degrees F. they will die within 20 minutes. However, bed bug eggs must be exposed to 118 degrees F. for 90 minutes to reach 100% mortality.
